Childhood Beginnings

Danny was born on August 31, 1959 to Benjamin Sorreda Tariman and Concepcion Adique Tariman, in the coastal town of Baras, Catanduanes. However, because of late registration at the Local Civil Registrar, his birthday was recorded as September 7, 1959.

His parents were both elementary school teachers and he has only 1 sibling, a sister who is 7 years older than him.

He grew up in a devout Catholic family, raised up and grew in the family home along Wilson St, in the shorelines of Easter Poblacion. Because their house is just across the beach, his favorite childhood pastime is playing and swimming with friends on the shores.

He finished his primary and elementary education at Baras Central Elementary School, where he was a consistent honor student. After each school year, his parents gladly pin ribbons on his chest as recognition of his academic achievements. [“Ribbons” in this rural  town, is equivalent of medals in some urban schools].

He moved on to Baras Rural Development High School for his high school studies where he graduated as a Valedictorian. On top of his recognition as valedictorian, he has also received several recognitions and awards.

Despite his academic leadership, he remained a simple and shy teenager who refrained from being the center of attention.
