We have this confidence in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. — 1 John 5:14
As I write this reflection (this article was first published in Didache 2013 for the Jan 12, 2013 page), my family is waking up to a brand new day in a brand new house. We just moved in yesterday to the home we had been praying for.
For many years, we had been asking God for a house of our own. Three years ago, the Lord blessed us with a 300-square-meter lot. We had dreamt of a big house built on it. We had imagined how it would look as we visited many interior design galleries.
But God had the best plan. Early last year, someone bought the lot from us at a profit of over P1 million.
In exchange, we were able to buy an old house and lot in cash, which we have fully renovated and furnished.
It is God’s will for us to live an abundant life. His Word is clear in John 10:10 — “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance.”
That’s why when we asked for this house, we asked for something our own pockets couldn’t afford. We claimed the life of abundance He had promised.
Now it has come to pass! Alleluia!
Reflection: Are your prayers in accordance to His will?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for revealing Your will for me. I entrust to You all my needs, and even things for my enjoyment, in Jesus’ name.
